MP3Juice Not Working? Fixes for Common Problems
By MP3Juice · How we write guides
Updated October 23, 2026 · 5 min read
When MP3Juice isn't working, the cause is usually small: a search that's too specific, a download tool that needs a few more seconds, or a browser setting that blocks a tab. This page lists the most common problems and what to do about each one, starting with the quickest fixes.
If you're not sure what's wrong, run through this short checklist first:
- Reload the page.
- Check your internet connection.
- Pause your ad blocker or VPN for the site.
- Try a different browser.
- Wait a few minutes and try again.
Quick reference: symptoms and fixes
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Search shows no results | Typo or very long query | Shorter search: artist + song title |
| Stuck on "preparing" | Long or new track being converted | Wait up to a minute, then retry |
| Error on a long video | Over the 30-minute limit | Pick a single track |
| Nothing happens on click | Pop-up or tab blocked | Allow pop-ups for the site |
| Can't find the file | Saved to Downloads | Check browser downloads list |
| Fails with ad blocker on | Blocker interferes with the tool | Pause blocker or VPN |
| Everything is slow | Service is busy | Try again later |
Why does the search return nothing?
Search works best with simple queries. Long titles with extra words like "official video HD lyrics 2026" can narrow the results to nothing.
- Use artist + song title, for example the artist name followed by the song name, nothing else.
- Check the spelling, especially for artist names with unusual letters.
- Try fewer words. If artist + title still finds nothing, search the song title alone.
- Try the original title for translated or non-English songs.
If even simple searches return nothing for every song, the service may be busy. Wait a few minutes. You can also browse the genres page to see if results load there.
Why is the download stuck on "preparing"?
When you press Download, a third-party conversion tool builds the file in the format you chose. For short, popular tracks this takes a few seconds. For long tracks or songs uploaded recently, it can take longer because the file has to be created from scratch.
- Wait up to a minute without reloading.
- If nothing changes, reload the song page and press the button again.
- If a security check appears (a bot-protection box), complete it. The conversion tool uses one to stop automated abuse.
- Still stuck? Try another result for the same song, or come back later.
Why won't long videos download?
Sources longer than 30 minutes are not supported. Full albums, DJ mixes, live concerts and hour-long compilations will fail. Search for the individual song you want instead. Shorter sources also convert faster.
Why does nothing happen when I click Download?
The conversion tool may open a new tab with an advertising partner page when you click download. Some browsers block that tab as a pop-up, and in some setups this also stops the download from starting.
- Look for a blocked pop-up icon in the address bar and allow pop-ups for the site.
- Close the ad tab if one opens, then return to the MP3Juice tab. Your download continues there.
- Ignore any buttons on the ad page. You don't need them. Our safety guide explains how to tell real buttons from fake ones.
Where did my file go?
MP3 and MP4 files save to your browser's default download location.
- Windows and Mac: usually the Downloads folder. Press Ctrl + J (Windows) or Command + Option + L (Chrome or Safari on Mac) to open the downloads list.
- Android: open the Files app and look in Downloads, or pull down the notification shade right after the download finishes. See MP3Juice on Android for more.
- Changed settings: if your browser asks where to save each file, the MP3 is wherever you chose.
Downloading on iPhone
On iPhone and iPad, Safari asks whether you want to download the file. Tap Download, then tap the download arrow in the address bar to see it. The file is saved in the Files app, under iCloud Drive > Downloads or On My iPhone > Downloads, depending on your Safari settings. Our iPhone guide covers playing and organizing files there.
Can ad blockers or VPNs cause problems?
Yes. Ad blockers, privacy extensions and some VPNs can block parts of the third-party conversion tool or its security check, which leads to buttons that do nothing or downloads that never start.
- Pause the ad blocker for the MP3Juice site and reload.
- Disconnect the VPN, or switch to a server in another region.
- Try a private window with extensions turned off.
If downloads work after this, you can turn your tools back on and only pause them when you download.
What if the service is busy or down?
Occasionally, searches or conversions fail because the service is under heavy load or a third-party tool is temporarily unavailable. In that case, changing settings won't help. Wait a few minutes, then try again. Problems like this usually clear up on their own.
Other things worth checking
- Update your browser. Old versions may not support the player or the download tool.
- Clear the cache for the site if pages look broken.
- Free up storage. A full phone can't save new files.
- Try another browser. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all work.
Still not working?
If you've tried everything above and the problem stays, check our FAQ or get in touch via the contact page. Tell us your device, browser and the song you tried; it helps us find the cause faster. For a refresher on the normal process, see how to download MP3s with MP3Juice.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my MP3Juice download stuck on preparing?
The conversion tool is still building the file, which can take longer for long or newly uploaded tracks. Wait up to a minute; if nothing changes, reload the page and try again.
Can MP3Juice download videos longer than 30 minutes?
No. Sources longer than 30 minutes are not supported. Search for a single track instead of a full album, mix or live set.
Where are my MP3Juice downloads saved?
In your browser's default download location, usually the Downloads folder. On iPhone, open the Files app and check Downloads under iCloud Drive or On My iPhone.
Does an ad blocker stop MP3Juice from working?
It can. Some ad blockers and VPNs interfere with the third-party conversion tool. Pause them for the site and try again.
What if MP3Juice is down?
When the service is busy, searches or downloads may fail for a while. Wait a few minutes and try again before changing any settings.
