MP3Juice on Android: Browser Downloads and the App

Android is the easiest platform for MP3Juice. You can download MP3s with the website in Chrome or any other browser, and install the official MP3Juice Android app if you also want a music player with a library. This guide covers both, explains where downloaded files end up, and shows how to play them offline.

Website or app: which should you use on Android?

They do different jobs. The website is where you search for a song and download it as an MP3, MP4 audio or MP4 video file; it needs nothing installed and works in any browser. The app is built for listening, with a full-screen player, a queue, liked songs and your own playlists. If you want MP3 files on your phone, use the website. If you mostly want to discover and play music, try the app and keep using the website for downloads.

Get the app only from the official MP3Juice app page. Copies posted on other sites may be modified, and there is no way to tell what has been changed.

How to download an MP3 in Chrome on Android

  1. Open Chrome and go to the MP3Juice home page.
  2. Type the song title and artist in the search box, then tap the search key.
  3. Tap the right result to open its song page.
  4. Play the short preview to make sure it's the version you want.
  5. Choose MP3 (or MP4 audio or MP4 video) and tap Download. An embedded third-party conversion tool prepares the file, usually in a few seconds. A short bot check may appear first.
  6. If an advertising partner page opens in a new tab, close it and switch back to the MP3Juice tab.
  7. When the file is ready, Chrome shows a download bar or notification. Tap Open to play it right away.

The first time a site downloads a file, Chrome may ask for permission. Tap Allow. For the general steps and search tips, see how to download MP3 files with MP3Juice.

Where are downloaded MP3s on Android?

Chrome saves files to the Download folder in your phone's internal storage. MP4 audio and MP4 video files go to the same folder. You can reach it in several ways:

Method Steps
Chrome downloads list Chrome > three-dot menu > Downloads
Files by Google Open Files > Browse > Downloads (or the Audio category)
Samsung My Files My Files > Downloads, or Audio
Notification Tap the "Download complete" notification right after saving

Chrome can also ask where to save each file. Turn this on under Chrome > Settings > Downloads > Ask where to save files. This is useful if you want songs to go straight to a Music folder or an SD card.

Other browsers such as Samsung Internet, Firefox and Edge also save to the Download folder by default, but each keeps its own downloads list in its menu.

How do you play MP3s on Android?

Most Android phones can play an MP3 straight from a file manager. Tap the file in Files by Google or My Files and it starts playing.

For a proper library with albums, artists and shuffle, use a music player app that reads local files. Many phones come with one, and there are plenty on Google Play. These apps scan your storage for audio files. If a new download doesn't appear:

  • Refresh the library. Most players have a rescan or refresh option in settings.
  • Check folder filters. Some players ignore the Download folder or skip short files. Add the folder or lower the minimum length.
  • Move the file. In Files by Google, press and hold the MP3, choose Move to, and pick the Music folder. Players almost always scan it.

Keeping files organized

Downloaded files often have long names. Rename them as you go, for example "Artist - Title.mp3", so they sort cleanly. If you collect a lot of music, read our guide to building an offline music library for folder structures and backup tips.

Why won't MP3Juice download on my Android phone?

Common causes, roughly in order of how often they happen:

  • A partner tab is in front. Return to the MP3Juice tab.
  • Chrome is blocking the download. Check the address bar for a blocked-download icon, and allow downloads for the site.
  • Storage is full. Free up space in Settings > Storage.
  • Data Saver or a VPN is interfering. Turn it off for a moment and try again.
  • The source is longer than 30 minutes. These aren't supported.

Tips for Android users

  • Add the website to your home screen for quicker access to downloads: Chrome > three-dot menu > Add to Home screen.
  • Download on Wi-Fi when possible to save mobile data.
  • Browse by style on the genres page when you don't have a specific song in mind.
  • Use an SD card for large collections, if your phone has a slot. Set Chrome to ask where to save files, then choose a folder on the card.

What about iPhone?

The MP3Juice iOS app is coming soon. In the meantime, the website works well in Safari on iOS 13 and later. See MP3Juice on iPhone for the steps.

A note on what to download

Only download music you're allowed to keep: your own uploads, copyright-free tracks and songs the artist has made available. Copyright rules vary by country. MP3Juice doesn't host audio files; our disclaimer explains more.

Summary

On Android, download MP3s with MP3Juice in Chrome, and install the official app from the app page if you also want a music player. Search, preview, tap Download and close any partner tab. Files go to the Download folder, which you can open from Chrome's Downloads list or Files by Google. Play them from a file manager or a music player, and move them to the Music folder if your player doesn't see them.
